Year One
Locations:
Wellington and Christchurch.
Key things you will learn:
Practical skills for ministry, leadership and life skills. Academic study through Laidlaw College in Bible, theology and formation (all year one students must complete one of the Laidlaw study options).
Gain a broad understanding of all aspects of church life and build a firm foundation in your understanding of faith and the Bible.
Practical experience:
Students will rotate through four areas of practical ministry across the year: Welcome & Teams; Life Groups & Pastoral Care; Creative & Services; and Outreach.
Projects:
In each module, students must complete 3 projects they apply to the modules they are learning. These projects are a mix of personal a group projects. Every Tuesday and Thursday has cut out time to work on these projects.

Year Two

Key things you will learn:
Practical ministry skills, Laidlaw study (optional), missions, management skills, evangelism.
Practical experience:
Students will choose a stream (pastoral, outreach or creative) and be assigned to a supervisor. Spend time in your chosen stream developing skills and knowledge in this area.
Projects:
Students will complete 4 projects throughout the year in association with the stream they are studying. Projects are planned with your supervisor and signed off by the Head of Academy.
What you will come out with:
Arise Ministry Academy 2nd year certificate, a qualification from Laidlaw College (if applicable), built CV, ready to work in ministry.
Students need a solid foundation to be prepared for ministry. Year one develops students with ministry and life skills and theological study via Laidlaw College.
Students will walk into year two equipped for a full year of practical ministry. Students will come out of year two understanding how to run and work in ministry environments.
